Ecolabelling is a voluntary method of product environmental performance labelling. But not all ecolabels are created equal. GEN is the only global network of scientifically rigorous, independently verified and comprehensive ecolabels that assess impacts on people and planet across the entire product lifecycle. World Ecolabel Day On October 12th 2023, the world celebrates the role of ecolabels in building a green global economy. Get involved Consumers are becoming more mindful of how their consumption and purchasing choices can make a positive impact towards sustainable consumption. They are now more conscious of choosing more sustainable options and increasingly request more information to better understand, quantify, compare, and contrast the sustainable attribute of the products their purchase. They are highly interested in reducing their environmental footprint. Therefore, brands need to contribute to this shift and integrated variables that can improve their communication and marketing practices. In order to support this consumption, shift to achieve more effective and reliable engagement with consumers, UNEP and the Akatu Institute developed a video presenting the Guidelines for Providing Product Sustainability Information. The video presents the 10 principles that make up the Guidelines and provides concrete examples for each of them. https://www.oneplanetnetwork.org/knowledge-centre/resources/guidelines-providing-product-sustainability-information Latest news & events GENews 26 May 2023 GENews May 2023 Read GEN News May 2023… News 21 May 2023 News from NGO Living Planet in Ukraine How Ecolabels Contribute to Climate Change Mitigation Since 2020, the NGO “Living … News 21 May 2023 “Eco Labelling, paving the way as a sustainable solution for food safety and quality”, A CEO Forum Conducted by NCPC Sri Lanka and UNIDO.
