The B2O summit was held on the 25th-27th of August in Delhi, India. This summit was hosted by CII and supported by GEN's Secretariat.
The GEN Chair and Secretariat were there representing GEN which included a speaking event at the Sustainability Summit and the launch of our new Sustainable Procurement information brochure: https://view.publitas.com/global-ecolabelling-network/procurement-for-people-and-the-planet

Please take a look at this booklet full of rich information and resources for businesses and governments.

In addition to the sustainability summit, we hosted our GEN hybrid Board meeting and participated in two ministerial meetings: The Indian Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) and the Bureau of Energy Efficiency.

The week culminated in an inspiring and insightful B20 conference, hearing from leading businesses who are quantifying and committed to the path of climate change solutions. GEN was even able to make great connections with Bloomberg, Tata Consulting and multiple embassies to name just a few valuable connections.

The focus for the B20 was R.A.I.S.E (Responsible Accelerated Innovative Sustainable Equitable business) which is very aligned to the GEN mission.Additionally, the B20 Task Force recommendations at the B20 included a vital recommendation of (4.3) focusing on Green Public Procurement and using Ecolabels as a tool. This recognition reaffirms the importance of our collective efforts and the impact of ecolabelling initiatives on fostering sustainable practices within public procurement.
Furthermore, GEN is specifically mentioned in this context (page 51). This recognition not only underscores our commitment but also positions us as a pivotal player in driving positive change in this critical area.
