The Ecological Union and the Lenta retail chain held a campaign to support ecolabeling

To coincide with World Ecolabeling Day, the Lenta retail chain and Ecological Union, the operator of Vitality Leaf ecolabel, produced a series of materials about eco-products and ecolabels for its customers on the retailer’s website.

Using infographics, shoppers were told how they could take care of nature with eco-friendly purchases and what role ecolabels play in that. The article showed different ecolabels that can be trusted: by life cycle, organic and confirming individual environmental benefits of a wide variety of products.

The retailer also made it easier for customers to find ecolabelled goods – they are now marked with green “ecolabel” stickers. Brands with Vitality Leaf ecolabel received such badges, among others.

According to Yulia Gracheva, director of the Ecological Union, “it demonstrates the store’s environmental responsibility to its customers and to the manufacturers who implement strict environmental standards. It is an important step for the retail store to support more products certified with lifecycle ecolabels.”
