In celebration of World Ecolabel Day 2019, six Global Ecolabelling Network members have created grant-funded videos describing the value and importance of Type 1 Ecolabels.

With recent fires in Indonesia, the focus has been on the forestry practices of plantation owners and there is still indiscriminate burning to clear land. However, Singapore Environmental Council (SEC) reports that their clients certified with the Enhanced Green Labelling Scheme (SGLS+) for pulp and paper products have implemented good forestry practices and fire and peatland management. SEC confirms that their clients’ plantations have been fire free.

GECA (Australia) has created a national Waste Collection Services standard, which sets a sustainability benchmark for services collecting waste from the point of collation and collection to a lawful processing or disposal facility.
