Singapore, a pioneer in environmental action and sustainability, is the host city for the Global Ecolabelling Network (GEN) 2026 AGM & Conference. A city-state committed to net-zero by 2050, Singapore offers a unique platform for global leaders to connect, collaborate, and catalyze change.

  • Singapore has had to embrace sustainable development decades before climate change became a global priority.  Due to physical constraints, Singapore is the only country in the world to freeze the growth of the vehicle population, and one of a few countries to have closed the water loop and to reuse every drop of water. There is no fossil fuel subsidy, and the emission of carbon is taxed.
  • Notwithstanding Singapore’s size, she is working towards being a City in Nature, as one of the greenest cities in the world.  Green cover stands at over 40%, with more than 7,800 hectares of green spaces safeguarded, and greenery integrated throughout the city.
  • Singapore is a nexus for the green economy by fusing green technology, sustainable finance, and climate innovation to drive sustainability in hard to abate sectors, such as chemicals, aviation and shipping.

We are also pleased to share that the AGM venue will be YWCA Fort Canning Hotel, located at 6 Fort Canning Road, Singapore 179494. Conveniently situated in the heart of Singapore, the venue is within walking distance of Dhoby Ghaut MRT Station and close to several attractions and amenities.

For hotel booking at the event venue, YMCA Fort Canning has extended special discounted room rates to GEN AGM participants as follows:

  • Single Room – S$160.00++ per room per night, inclusive of breakfast for one person
  • Double/Twin Room – S$170.00++ per room per night, inclusive of breakfast for two persons

These rates are subject to a 10% service charge and prevailing Goods & Services Tax. All rates are quoted in Singapore Dollars.

Bookings at the preferential rates need to be made via the accomodation booking form to be emailed to the hotel directly. Reservations made through the hotel booking website will be charged at the standard published rates.
